eFiling in the State Courts Return to Top

Legal eFiling is a dedicated, secure web-based system that allows attorneys and their staff to file civil case pleadings, attachments and other important documents electronically with the courts.

eFilingforCourts is a 3-part collaborative process among an Electronic Filing Service Provider (EFSP), Electronic Filing Manager (EFM-state eFiling system) and the Court Clerk. The EFM is the central routing hub for the dissemination of eFilings to all courts. Legal documents are submitted to the EFM through an approved EFSP. This system enables you to file case pleadings, attachments and other documents to the courts online.

And, ProDoc eFiling service is the most preferred EFSP in the state eFiling system, based upon registrant and eFiling volume market share.

We provide eFiling and eService in the state courts through the state eFiling system only—we are not a part of the Federal pacer system or the Lexis Nexis File and Serve system.

eService Return to Top

Legal eService is the process of notifying and sending service to the opposing counsel on a case through an electronic transmission instead of the traditional faxing or certified mail processes. At the instant you click the Submit button, we send your filing to the court and simultaneously notify opposing counsel that they have been served.

The attorney of record will receive a receipt or Proof of Service in a PDF document via email. The Proof of Service includes the jurisdiction, court assignment, the trace number of the filing, the time and date it was filed, the serving attorney, the case number, the case title, name of the documents filed and the attorneys served.

You can now eServe one attorney or hundreds with just a click of a button and for one flat rate. Even better, once you have entered your case information and have added all of the attorneys to your eService list, we store the information for you, making it convenient to file subsequent filings.

eService Plus - Discovery Requests Return to Top

Our system also enables you to electronically send discovery to opposing counsel. Just like eService, when sending discovery electronically, you will receive a receipt or Proof of Service in a PDF document via email. No need to pay high postage costs to send voluminous documents to several attorneys.

With one click, you can send discovery to one attorney or hundreds—all less than $6.00. And you won't have to worry about documents getting lost in the mail or fax machines being offline or out of paper. Your documents are delivered timely and securely... and you have Proof of Service.

Fax Service Return to Top

Our FREE Fax Service means no preparing certified mail receipts and fax cover sheets for opposing counsel who do not use our eService?

In a single step, you can load all opposing counsel for your case and choose to Fax Service or eService. For Fax Service, just enter the party's name, fax number, representation, and you're ready to go. We do the rest for you.

We'll send the cover page along with the documents. You'll receive a receipt or Proof of Service via email. The Proof of Service includes the Document Type, Case Name, Cause Number, Date and Time of Service, Jurisdiction, Trace Number, Documents Filed, and Party(s) of Record.

Service of Citation/Summons Return to Top

You may also request Service of Citation along with your eFiling. Each jurisdiction provides differing options but your choices of service methods nearly always include:

  • Private process/Attorney pickup
  • Sheriff or constable
  • Certified mail
  • Registered mail

You will receive your file stamped copy as a PDF document and will order copies to be served during the eFiling process. Since our service counts the number of pages, you'll know the total cost exactly before you submit the filing.

"The moment I heard about eFiling I realized that it was the best thing to come along since sliced cheese. eFiling is a no-brainer for me.

How much I’m willing to pay in eFiling fees is dependant on how much I’m willing to pay to keep my staff in the office working. I looked at the cost of sending one of my staff over to the courthouse to file.

Of course, they’ve always got to spend a little time “building relationships” at the courthouse so that five-minute trip always extends longer.

Meanwhile, I’ve got work back at the firm that needs attending.

So, I started early on offering my clients the option of filing the traditional way or eFiling. I would explain that it might take a few days to get the petition to the courthouse by courier or, for a few dollars more, we could take care of it right then.

You know what… they went with eFiling every time. The money was never an issue for them—and my clients are generally not wealthy."
